A Californian's Poker Deck

Project Description:

Create four poker card icons to use as pips, then translate them into suits, numbered cards, and face cards. Include jokers.

My project, A Californian's Poker Deck, illustrates a playful, cheerful, clean version of cannabis. Growing up in Southern California, as a child of a cancer survivor, weed was seen as medicinal. Seeing the harsh reality of the history of criminalizing weed in the United States was a rude awakening. This poker deck aims to create a fun, family-friendly commodity that can lessen the stigma of weed.
